Real Growers Project
Plan-it Earth is now the home of the Real Growers. This exciting six month project, funded by and in conjunction with Real Ideas Organisation, started in February this year. Six growers are having an amazing opportunity to be trained in food production and low-impact living. Instructed by lead grower Dan Thomas, who has over 25 years of horticultural experience, the growers will develop large areas of the site for sustainable food production eventually providing the local community with weekly vegetable boxes through the Community Supported Agriculture Box Scheme.
During the project the growers will develop land management skills which reflect the strong ethos of Plan-it Earth. Developing the site and growing produce while being environmentally sensitive and learning a variety of skills.
Throughout the project we will be holding open days where everyone is invited to come and have a tour of the site and see the progress the trainees are making. Watch this space for upcoming open days and events.
